Jim Harmon Memorial Fund
Established by Barb Harmon
Northern Ohio

Jim Harmon was more than the Chapter’s “IT guy.”

While not an official employee, he was an official member of The ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter's team when he passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2020.

Jim and his firm Hammaker-Schuster Solutions began their business relationship with the Chapter in August 2012, as the office prepared to move from downtown Cleveland to its current location in Independence. Jim went above and beyond to provide superior customer service, often interrupting his family time, even on vacation, to ensure that the Chapter had the user support that it needed. On his frequent trips up and down the I-71 and I-80 corridors between his home in Mansfield and the Chapter office, Jim would pick up and deliver durable medical equipment and speech generating devices to families in need. He joined in many of the Chapters staff outings, helped out with events, and even solicited sponsorships.

Through his relationship with the Chapter, the battle against ALS became a personal mission for Jim. His family and friends are honoring Jim’s legacy by creating a Community of Hope to combat this devastating disease.
